MARIGO 1898

A story of sweetness, nature and passion.

There is a golden thread that links Marigo honey to the land, to the mountain winds, to the scent of flowers. It is a story that began in 1898, when Pietro Marigo, returning from military service in Siena, brought with him a simple wooden rustic hive. A gesture that seemed small but marked the beginning of an adventure lasting over a century, filled with love for bees and dedication to work.

Over the years, those hives grew along with the Marigo family. Francesco, Pietro’s son, tended the bees with patience and skill, bringing honey to the tables of the Vicenza area as early as the 1930s through sales in the family grocery store. Chestnut, heather, wildflower honey: each variety tells the story of a place, a season, a bloom.

Bruno, Francesco’s son, tired of staying in the shop, decided to join his father in managing the beekeeping business which, in 1958, reached 350 hives. The family embraced migratory beekeeping, following the cycles of nature and moving the hives from the mountains of Trentino to the Po Delta, from the meadows of Asiago to the Modena hills.

Marigo production is not just an economic activity: it is a true culture of honey. Every jar contains the scent of a territory, the silent work of bees and human knowledge. With Bruno’s experience, the beekeeping expertise strengthens and evolves, and the company grows to exceed 550 hives. Beekeeping becomes life, identity, and family memory.

The arrival in Lavarone, Trentino, marks a new chapter. Zero-kilometer honey becomes the star: produced directly in the surrounding area, it reflects the richness of alpine flora and the purity of the mountain environment. Local varieties include Wildflower, Forest Honey and Dandelion Honey. Alongside these, honey from other regions is carefully selected, always faithful to the same principles of quality and sustainability.
In this authentic natural setting, the Marigo family also creates new projects: royal jelly, propolis and a range of natural products, born from deep respect for the environment and for people’s well-being.

TAMARA’S APIARY

The Marigo family’s love for the territory is also expressed through art. Some of the hives placed in the woods and meadows of Lavarone have become real open-air canvases thanks to local artist Tamara Osele. With vibrant colors and nature-inspired motifs, Tamara’s decorations transform the bees’ homes into unique artworks, visible along trails and near the apiaries. A creative gesture that brings together beekeeping and beauty, while raising awareness about the importance of these small but vital insects.
